How can I clean my thermometer?

Note: Never attempt to sterilize a thermometer in boiling water or the microwave.

Ear Thermometer - Clean the probe and tip with an alcohol swab or an ear swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol after each measurement. This will ensure the most accurate reading. To clean the body of the ear thermometer, you may use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, thinners or benzene for cleaning.

No Touch Thermometer - The measurement sensor and proximity sensor may be cleaned very gently with a soft, alcohol-moistened cloth. Do not use excessive amounts of alcohol or pour alcohol directly on the sensors. Wipe with a damp cloth and allow to dry.

Pacifier Thermometer - The thermometer may be sterilized by immersing the silicone rubber nipple ONLY in sterilizing solution such as alcohol. Immerse the nipple approximately 1 inch/2.5 cm ONLY in the solution. The protective clip-on plastic shield supplied may be used as a container for this purpose. The plastic parts of the thermometer may be wiped clean with a soft cloth. Note: The pacifier thermometer should never be completely immersed in sterilizing solution or sterilized in boiling water as damage will occur to the electronic components.

Probe Tip Thermometers - Clean the probe tip with an alcohol swab before and after each use. Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the plastic parts of the thermometer. Never use abrasive cleaning agents, thinners or benzene for cleaning. Clean the plastic parts and display of the thermometer with a soft, dry cloth. Do not an abrasive cleaning agent on the display.

Rectal Thermometers - Clean the thermometer before first use and after each use. Clean the thermometer tip (1 inch only) using soap and water, or use isopropyl alcohol or other sterilizing solution. Clean the plastic parts of the thermometer with a soft, dry cloth. Note: Never immerse electronic parts in water, isopropyl alcohol or other liquids.
